An Agreement has been reached which allows Dr. Arredondo the ability to pursue other interests and permits the Board to pursue hiring another Superintendent. The Board and Dr. Arredondo have entered into the Agreement believing it is in their respective best interests and in the best interests of the District.
At a special board meeting held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, the Grand Prairie Independent School District (GPISD) Board of Trustees made the decision to place Superintendent Jorge L. Arredondo on paid administrative leave in order to protect the District and Dr. Arredondo, effective immediately.
Deputy Superintendent of Business Operations, Tracy Ray, has been appointed as Acting Superintendent to ensure the continued smooth operation of the district.
“Because this is an ongoing investigation, there will be no additional comment from this Board,” said Board President Amber Moffitt. “We believe all parties will be treated fairly with a high level of professionalism by the outside third-party law firm that is conducting the investigation.”
The District remains committed to the success of our students, staff, and the Grand Prairie ISD community.
