Gifted & Talented

  • Mission Statement

    The mission of the Grand Prairie ISD College Readiness/Gifted and Talented Program is to ensure that our most able learners are challenged to meet their highest potential and that curriculum and learning opportunities are in line with their needs, interests, and abilities.

    Students who qualify for these services exhibit high-level thinking, creativity, and advanced problem solving skills. Participation in GT classes may include:

    * 4 hours a week of interdisciplinary thematic units

    * Accelerated Math in all grade levels: first – fourth grades

    * Independent research opportunities allow students to investigate specific topics of interest and to develop sophisticated products
