My role and philosophy as a counselor is to strive to empower students to manage their emotions, resolve conflict, make healthy choices, and set goals in order to promote and enhance student achievement and success.

The vision of the School Counseling program at Hector P. Garcia Elementary is to empower all of our students to work toward holding themselves accountable and responsible for their social-emotional growth to become well-rounded citizens. Through our comprehensive counseling program, we will address academic, social-emotional and career goals which will empower their college, career, military and emotional readiness.

A comprehensive school counseling program is an intentional design to address and identify needs within the school campus, district, and communities.

Garcia Elementary is to collaborate with stakeholders to promote all aspects of social-emotional learning such as social awareness, self-management, growth mindset, and self-efficacy to ensure college, career, and military readiness throughout their educational career.
