Vision Statement
The Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute Counseling Services Department will support students so they can reach their maximum potential personally and academically, by using a comprehensive program that addresses personal/mental/social, academic and college/career readiness goals so scholars can establish a solid foundation that they can build upon through post-secondary goals and through adulthood. The counseling services department also aligns with GPCI in that we will promote a rigorous academic and College/University going culture.

The Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute Counseling Services Department's mission is to give scholars in grades 6-12 lifelong personal/mental health/social resources and strategies. Counseling Services will implement a comprehensive counseling program that aligns with GPCI in that we will promote a rigorous academic and college going culture while partnering with families, staff, and community members to provide social/emotional/academic and career resources.

Mental Health
The Counseling Center supports students facing behavioral or emotional concerns, including depression, anxiety, grief, bullying, and self-esteem issues. Counseling will be provided to Grand Prairie ISD students in K-12 grade experiencing behavioral or emotional concerns.
- Therapy Services: Offers individual, family, group therapy, and social and emotional tutoring.
- Service Options: Available both in-person and virtual therapy to meet students' needs.
Food Pantry
The Social Work Hub offers food assistance to GPISD families in need throughout the year.
- Monthly Food Boxes: Families can visit the Social Work Hub once a month to pick up a box of food.
- Holiday and Spring Break Meals: Additional food assistance is available during holiday breaks and Spring Break to ensure families have adequate meals.
Clothes and Uniforms
The Social Work Hub also provides clothing for families in need.
- Clothes Closet: Provides clothes and shoes to GPISD students in need of assistance, ensuring they have proper attire for school.
- Kid’s Inc.: In partnership with Kid’s Inc., GPISD offers new uniforms to students in need through this non-profit organization.
Supplies and More
The Social Work Hub, in partnership with Care Portal and the CAB, offers support to address various needs of GPISD students and their families.
- School Supplies and Hygiene Products: We provide essential school supplies and hygiene items to students in need.
- Home Support: Families can receive a range of additional items to assist with needs in the home
