Hello! I’ve been teaching for 10 years, 9 of which have been in Grand Prairie ISD. After my 6th year of teaching, I worked for 13 years in the pharmaceutical research industry where I studied many diseases and health conditions including major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, bone and tendon repair, sepsis, multiple sclerosis and multiple cancer types. During my research, I authored several abstracts and scientific papers, of which 8 were published in medical journals. My hobbies and interests include Latin Dancing, teaching Zumba, cooking and traveling around the world.
I believe it is my role to serve students and model my love for learning. I aim to understand student needs so that lessons intentionally guide each student in an educational and safe environment. In biological and health sciences, students learn by asking questions, investigating, and drawing conclusions. Critical thinking is expected. Each student is a 'scientist' through their inquiry and discovery. Students make connections and reflect. Like all sciences, learning is a life-long process that I aim to model and hope all students will impart.
