Dress Code - Uniform Notice - English and Spanish (Print Version - PDF)

Dear Parents:

As of the 2004-2005 school year, the wearing of school uniforms became mandatory for all Daniels Elementary Academy students. This decision was based upon the overall input from campus parents, PTA, Campus Improvement Committee, and community members. Uniforms were made mandatory by the Grand Prairie Board of Education in an effort to provide excellence, a healthier school climate, and to promote students' self-esteem. Parents and students are to conform to the mandatory uniform policy. Uniforms are to be worn Monday through Friday.

Below are the criteria for the uniforms:

Girls

• Black, navy & khaki - pants, skorts, skirts and or jumper
• White, navy, pastel yellow/light blue polo style shirts with collars and long/short sleeves
• No flip-flops
• No shoe skates
• No open-toed/gladiator type sandals allowed as this could lead to accidents while running during gym or at recess
• Any dress, shoes or grooming that may interfere with normal school operations may not be worn

Boys

• Black, navy & khaki - pants and/or shorts
• White, navy, pastel yellow/light blue polo style shirts with collars and long/short sleeves
• No flip-flops
• No shoe skates

• Any dress, shoes or grooming that may interfere with normal school operations may no be worn
