Grand Prairie ISD is an open enrollment District which means you do not have to live in Grand Prairie to choose GPISD for your child. GPISD offers numerous traditional schools, Schools of Choice and Programs of Choice at all levels.
Will I be able to apply at the Experience?
Yes, those who attend the Experience will receive an Apply Early Pass to apply before the applications open to the public.
How will I get more information about the Kaleidoscope Schools and Programs of Choice?
The Grand Prairie ISD Experience is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Dubiski Career High School located at 2990 S. Highway 161, Grand Prairie, 75052 from 9:00 AM to NOON.
May we apply if we live in another school district?
Yes. Grand Prairie ISD is an open enrollment District, you do not have to live in Grand Prairie ISD to choose GPISD for your child.
How do we apply for a Kaleidoscope School and Program of Choice?
Applications will be available online from Monday, November 4 through December 20, 2019. To apply online, visit www.gpisd.org/apply.
Do I need to stand in line to submit my child’s application?
No. Grand Prairie ISD’s application process is 100% online. You will need access to the Internet to apply.
If I do not have access to the internet, how can I complete the online application?
If you do not have access to the Internet you can visit a GPISD Campus or go to the Grand Prairie ISD Education Center computer lab located at 2602 S. Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052 to use a computer with Internet access.

What documentation is required for me to apply?
Students not currently enrolled in Grand Prairie ISD: To determine Academic Eligibility, all documents listed below are required for students not currently enrolled in Grand Prairie ISD. In the online application you will have the opportunity to upload the required documents prior to submitting the application. You may submit the online application without uploading the required documents but must provide Grand Prairie ISD with the required documentation no later than December 20, 2019 by 2:00 p.m. to be considered Academically Eligible. Grand Prairie ISD’s Education Center located at 2602 S. Belt Line Rd., Grand Prairie, TX 75052, will be providing support to those needing assistance with uploading the required documents to their online application. All documentation must be uploaded individually.

Current Students enrolled in Grand Prairie ISD only need their Student ID to apply. The student’s Student ID can be found by logging into Skyward's Family Access (Parent Portal) then selecting Student Information link. The student's Student ID is the "Other ID" number in the General Information area. No documentation is required to apply.
What are the Academic Eligibility Requirements for students zoned to GPISD?
- 95% Attendance rate for prior and current year
- Acceptable Discipline Record for prior and current year
What if I do not have a scanner or a way to upload the required documents to the online application?

What if my child is currently attending a school or program of choice and wishes to stay and continue at that school or program for the 2019-2020 school year; Do I need to re-apply?
No. Students currently attending a School of Choice or Program of Choice and wish to stay and continue at that school or program do not need to re-apply. Note: The campus administrator will require you to sign a “Schools and Programs of Choice Letter of Intent” to acknowledge your intent to return for the 2019-2020 school year.
What if my Child is currently attending a traditional campus on a transfer request and wishes to stay and continue at that campus for the 2019-2020 school year; Do I need to apply online?
No. Students currently attending a traditional campus on a Transfer request and wish to stay and continue at that campus do not need to apply online. Note: The campus administrator will require you to sign a “Transfer Student Letter of Intent” to acknowledge your intent and request to return for the 2019-2020 school year.
Do I need to apply if I want my child to attend the school in my GPISD attendance zone?
Students can attend the schools within their Primary Residence Attendance Zone in Grand Prairie ISD. Note: GPISD student’s need to apply if they are wanting to attend a Program of choice at the school they are zoned to attend.
Can I apply online at this time for my child to attend kindergarten in GPISD?
Yes, you will no longer have to wait until late April/early May for your approval/denial. Kindergarten is now on the same timeline as all other grades.
Do I need to apply online at this time for my child to attend prekindergarten for the 2020–2021 school year in GPISD?
The federally funded Pre-Kindergarten and Pre-K Tuition based program's Online Applications will be available in April 2020.
Can I apply for each of the four available online applications?
Each student, depending on his or her next-year grade level, can submit a single application for each of the four available online applications.
