Mrs. Michelle Duphorne
Michelle Duphorne is excited to teach PAP Algebra 1, PAP Geometry, and AP Calculus AB, as well as serve as house leader for Rice. This is her second year at Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute.
After being awarded a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a Specialization in Applied Mathematics at the University of California at Irvine, she continued her graduate course work there to earn her first teaching credential in grades 6-12 math. After teaching at two schools in California, she instructed students in three schools in Texas, where she currently holds teaching certifications in EC – 6 all subjects and 4 – 12 Mathematics, with endorsements in Gifted and Talented and ESL Education. Mrs. Duphorne enjoys video games and working with computers, which led her to past opportunities as an online mathematics instructor through New York’s School of One program, as well as an online mentor/coach of Algebra I teachers.
Mrs. Duphorne has children attending elementary and junior high schools, as well as one pursuing an undergraduate degree in college this year. When she's not in the classroom teaching her students, Mrs. Duphorne is also a student herself, currently attending the University of Texas at Arlington, where she anticipates completing her Master's of Education, Curriculum and Instruction – Math, in December of 2017.
