Attendance

  • Studies have shown that in addition to an encouraging environment, regulated attendance is a leading factor to a student's success. As a result, Texas state law states that a child the ages of 6 ( On or before Sept. 1) through 18 is required to attend school each day during the instructional year. School employees are required to investigate and report violations of the state's compulsory attendance law. Therefore, our attendance office will call daily to look into and report the absences of our students.

In partnership of this law GPISD has created the "Every Child, Every Seat ,Every Day " program. An attendance incentive program that rewards students on a regular basis for being at school everyday, and on time. In previous years Marshall has given rewards such as, a new bicycle, free kid's meals to Spring Creek BBQ, board games, and many others.
