? I became a teacher because I have always enjoyed working with little ones. It's those moments of laughter, sincerity, expecting the unexpected which keeps me on my toes, being able to adjust in moments noticed, accepting and giving hugs, showing forgiveness and giving a second chance, being a role model. Teaching is not an easy task, it takes dedication and time, but is priceless and a long fulfilling journey.
Austin is my home. I started my first year teaching here in the school year 2011-2012. I have a strong connection with my students and parents. I am proud to be a member of Austin Environmental Science Academy because every day is different, every second counts, and I learn something new every day.
I believe that as a teacher I can not make someone learn, but I can inspire and provide a safe environment where students feel safe and comfortable to share, learn and explore. Self-discovery is having the opportunity to study things that are meaningful and relevant to one's life and interests. Developing a curriculum around student interests foster motivation and stimulates the passion to learn.
I am an artist. I enjoy painting, creating art in many forms, and visiting different places. I am also a mermaid. I love to swim.
It is going to be a GREAT school year.
