Here at the Global Leadership Academy at Barbara Bush we have become a project-based learning campus. Project-based learning, or PBL, is a method of teaching which allows for students to take autonomy of their own learning. Students are able to connect the material to their own interests and as a result strengthen their innate creativity and curiosities. In this role I also work closely with teachers to create authentic and hands on learning experiences for students that include investigation, technology, and research.

Mrs. Washington is a 4th year teacher here in Texas. Before moving to Texas, she worked at the U.S. Embassy in Brasilia, Brazil. She changed her career from politics to teaching and is very thankful that she did! Every year she is excited about teaching students to think "outside-the-box" and to take risks. She focuses her lessons on collaboration, inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving techniques. Her goal is to prepare students for an increasingly competitive and multi-cultural world.
