Christi Maier - Speech
This is my 13th year working in the same school district I attended as a student. In addition to working in the public schools, I also have experience in pediatric home health. I am a member of the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
I attended undergrad and graduate school at Stephen F. Austin State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Early Childhood Development and went on to receive my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. I am currently licensed by the state of Texas and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
I enjoy spending my time outside of school with my husband and two daughters.
As the Speech-Language Pathologist at Moore College and Career Preparatory Academy, I provide speech and language services to children age 3 and older. School based speech therapy services fall under the category of Special Education and encompass a wide array of communication disorders. Therapy may focus on management of articulation, phonological, language, fluency, or voice disorders. If you are concerned that your child may have a speech impairment, please contact your child’s teacher to discuss your concerns and to see if they are having the same difficulties with communication in the classroom setting so that the appropriate steps can be taken to refer your child for interventions.
