Mrs. Tiffany Davila
My name is Tiffany Davila, and I am so excited to be joining the Marshall staff. I grew up in Grand Prairie and attended elementary, middle and high school here in GPISD. I have been in elementary education for the past 12 years. I am married and have 3 active young kids. I love working with children and their families, and I am looking forward to a great school year!
Dyslexia is a disorder of constitutional origin manifested by a difficulty in learning to read, write, or spell, despite conventional instruction, adequate intelligence, and sociocultural opportunity. Students who have been identified, through in depth assessment, have the opportunity to receive structured, systematic instruction that is tailored to the dyslexic brain. GPISD has chosen to use the MTA (Multi sensory Teaching Approach), created by Margaret Taylor Smith, for the general education dyslexia students. It is built upon and is designed to be compatible with alphabetic phonics, which was developed by the staff at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital Language Laboratory in Dallas. Once the student has been identified as having the characteristics of dyslexia, they are pulled out of their homeroom class for small group intensive instruction.
