WELCOME MESSAGE TO PARENTS
On the behalf of the teachers and staff of Crosswinds Accelerated High School, I welcome you to our campus.
We enjoy working with members of our school community including parents and students, to create a safe learning environment that not only engages students but also fosters academic achievement.
Crosswinds Accelerated High School graduated its largest class to date in 2018, and we look forward to making the 2018-2019 school year our best one yet!

ABOUT DR. MEYER
Dr. Meyer is in her 26th year of Texas public education, all of which she has served in the Grand Prairie Independent School District. Dr. Meyer earned her Bachelors of Science at the University of Texas in Austin, her Masters of Education at the University of Texas at Arlington, and her Ed.D. at Dallas Baptist University.
She was a middle school teacher at Lee Middle School for 4 years; she was an assistant principal for 3 years, and has been a principal for 19 years. Serving at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels has provided Dr. Meyer with comprehensive educational experience. Now in her 4th year as principal of Crosswinds High School in Grand Prairie, Dr. Meyer has also served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at the University of North Texas at Dallas. Dr. Meyer was named was named the TEPSA Region 10 Middle Level Distinguished Principal in 2011, and was a Raise Your Hand Texas Harvard fellow in 2016.
Dr. Meyer is a visible principal, and has relational capacity with every student. Her favorite part of her job is serving students and teachers and believes that in an effective school, staff members are a part of a great team that works together for the success of their students. She believes that student achievement should be the focus of every decision made in a school and that a positive school climate is crucial to its success. Dr. Meyer creates and implements school systems in which teachers and students thrive and perform.
Dr. Meyer was raised in Burkburnett, Texas, and lived in Grand Prairie for 25 years until recently downsizing and relocating to Arlington. In her free time, she likes to garden, hike, read and ride her Harley Davidson motorcycle. She is the proud mother of Chloe O’Donnell, a 2017 graduate of South Grand Prairie High School, who is currently in her sophomore year at New York University in New York City.
