    Welcome Parents!

Our school, Garner Fine Arts Academy, is a one of a kind school of choice for elementary students in Grand Prairie Independent school district where we will serve just above 1000 students in the 2019-2020 school year. GFAA is an academic powerhouse, recently being named as a 2018-2019 Texas Honor Roll school. In addition to academic excellence, our tremendous fine arts programs have earned us recognition from the Arts School Network for our Arts integration and innovation.  We are extremely proud of how we create an educational environment where all students can flourish artistically and academically.

As I enter my 26th year as an educator, I am convinced that this work is one of the most noble professions around.  This work is exactly what I was called to do!  I have been greatly impacted by teachers throughout my Texas public education and I have chosen to pay it forward.  This journey of education has taken me from teaching elementary at Powell Elementary, then to an Assistant Principal at Fannin and Austin.  Next, I found myself in the principal’s seat for at Whitt, Crockett, Bonham and now Garner.  Over the years I have learned so much and understand how important this work is and am committed to contributing to the academic success of all of our students.  My three boys, Weston, Holden and Collin are a part of the Garner family, therefore there is no doubt in my mind that our school is an amazing place for students to learn, grow and flourish!

I earned my bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies at Stephen F. Austin State University and my Master of Administration at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you or your family.
