Crosswinds Accelerated High School provides an alternative academic environment that provides personal graduation plans for students who want a compassionate, small learning environment that focuses on credit recovery, credit acceleration, and ultimately, graduation. Crosswinds assists students in staying in school, especially those facing challenges such as work, parenting, and other extenuating circumstances.

Our mission is to nurture, mentor, and educate all students, especially those who have struggled in a traditional high school setting, in order to ensure their personal growth and success.

Curriculum Offerings
Crosswinds High School is a TEA Academic Alternative Campus serving the needs of high school students who are currently at risk of dropping out of high school, who may become at risk of dropping out in the future, or who want to accelerate high school graduation.
Crosswinds provides a unique atmosphere to nurture credit recovery and credit attainment in an accelerated, individualized format, which helps students earn or regain credits on a faster pace than in traditional high schools.
Academically at-risk students are given opportunities to acquire the necessary skills they need to be successful in college and careers with three session options. These options provide flexible schedule opportunities for working students.
Crosswinds offers four high school endorsements in a barrier-free learning environment in which students can earn their Texas high school diploma. Students are provided with a personalized graduation plan and learn monitoring skills to stay focused on the tasks necessary to achieve success.

How can I apply to your school?
Crosswinds is a School of Choice in GPISD and requires students to submit an application online through the Crosswinds Accelerated High School website. All applicants are reviewed by the principal, Dr. Meyer and she submit the application to be entered for the weekly New Student Orientation.

What is the age limit to apply?
There is no age limit to apply. The day school students are usually grades 9-12. The night school students vary in age. Anyone in need of a diploma can apply to become a Crosswinds student.

How is the Accelerated Program at Crosswinds implemented?
Credit recovery and credit attainment in an accelerated, individualized format, helps students earn or regain credits on a faster pace than in traditional high schools.

What kind of schedule do we have?
The school day is comprised of three distinct sessions that provide flexible scheduling opportunities for students. Crosswinds is currently in its seventh year as a Grand Prairie School of Choice.
