Mrs. Jennifer Gilmore Foley

Mrs. Jennifer Gilmore Foley was raised in Arlington, Texas and graduated from Texas Christian University (go Frogs!) with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Secondary Education Language Arts and Reading in 2005. Mrs. Foley has been teaching full time since 2006. Before joining the staff at GPFAA, she taught Junior and Senior English at Mansfield Summit High School. In her years at GPFAA, she has taught 8th Grade English, Speech, Pre-AP English II and AP Language and Composition in addition to all levels of dance.

Mrs. Foley trained locally with Janis Roeton and also studied with Margo Dean School of Ballet in Fort Worth and various other master teachers in the area. She started teaching classes at the age of 14 and feels lucky to have had the opportunity to teach in the studio where she grew up. She has taught at various studios and schools and at the age of 25 she took a leap of faith and opened her own dance studio, Momentum Dance. Momentum Company has won numerous regional and national titles and Mrs. Foley has been awarded various choreography awards throughout her years of teaching dance. Although she loves all styles of dance, ballet and contemporary are her favorite to teach. She has been involved in co-choreographing the GPFAA high school musicals for the past three years – it is a true joy to be able to work with students from all of our talented strands.

Mrs. Foley loves how GPFAA pushes her to create outside of her comfort zone; she is inspired daily by her students as she continues to explore her art and choreography. She enjoys teaching high school dance as well as various dance electives including Contemporary Ballet, Pointe, Composition and Pedagogy.

Mrs. Foley married her husband, Josh Foley, in November of 2016 and they are excited to be adding a baby girl to their family in January of 2019.
