It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Board Member Nancy Bridges

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Board Member Nancy Bridges.

Nancy, a graduate of Grand Prairie High School, joined the district as a teacher in 1977. She retired from GPISD in June 2019, after 42 years of service. During her tenure with GPISD, she held many positions. She was a teacher, assistant principal, principal, director, and retired as the Deputy Superintendent of Business Operations. She also was an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington and supervised student teachers at Dallas Baptist University.

After her retirement from GPISD, Nancy was elected to the GPISD Board of Trustees in June 2023. She held the position of Board Secretary at the time of her death.

"In moments like this, we hold tightly to the promise found in Psalm 34:18, 'The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit,'” said Amber Moffitt, GPISD Board President. "We are so thankful for Nancy's service to Grand Prairie ISD, and she will be missed immensely. Please keep her family, friends, and all who loved her in your prayers."

Nancy was known and loved by many in our community. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and numerous friends.
