Grand Prairie ISD Board Selected as a 2024 Texas Honor School Board
5 Boards Vying for Outstanding School Board
The Grand Prairie ISD has been selected as a 2024 Texas Honor School Board by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA)! The GPISD Board joins boards from Burkburnett ISD, Corpus Christi ISD, Donna ISD, and Klein ISD as finalists for the Texas Association of School Administrators’ 2024 Outstanding School Board.
“As a District, we are so proud of the work being done by our trustees,” said Grand Prairie ISD Superintendent Jorge Arredondo. “This Board is focused on elevating our students so they have every opportunity to succeed.”In a release, TASA explained that the five Honor Boards were selected by a committee of Texas school superintendents. The selection committee’s decisions were based on criteria that include: support for educational performance, support for educational improvement projects, commitment to a code of ethics, and maintenance of harmonious and supportive relationships among board members.”
“This recognition is the result of the hard work and dedication of each and every trustee,” said Grand Prairie ISD Board President Amber Moffitt. “We work arm in arm as a team to always do what we believe is in the best interest of our staff, our students, and their families.”
In September, the five boards vying for the program’s highest honor will be interviewed at txEDCON24, the TASA/TASB Convention in San Antonio, before one board is named 2024 Outstanding School Board on September 27. The other Honor Boards, as well as the regional winners, will also be recognized. -
