Sandy Dávila-Tijerina

Ms. Dávila-Tijerina received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Spanish, with a Minor in Mexican American Studies from the University of Houston. She has been in education for 25 years, 21 of those years within Grand Prairie ISD. She started her career with GPISD in 2003 as a Spanish/ESL teacher. During this time, she received her Master of Arts in Teaching a Second Language from Bennington College. Shortly after, she obtained her Principal Certification from the University of Texas at Arlington and has been an Assistant Principal since 2006 in various schools in GPISD.
In her spare time, she loves to spend quality time with her husband Ricky, children Ricky and Rosario, and their adorable dog Daisy. She also enjoys reading books and going to the movies.
Sandy views a collaborative school environment as the key to creating successful teachers and students. She believes partnerships with parents and community partners are essential to student success.
