College and Career Readiness
Due to the Dallas County orders currently in place, there will be no students in the building before September 8. All school testing sites in Dallas County are required to notify College Board of the cancellation. College Board will send a cancellation notification by email to all students registered for the test and post information on their website about the cancellation.
Grand Prairie ISD is committed to ensuring that our students are prepared to pursue a fulfilling career sparked by their passions. We believe that no matter what our students are planning to do after high school, they should be in a position to choose the college and career pathway that will lead to a successful life.
When we are talking about being college and career ready, what are we really saying? Fundamentally, being college and career ready is having the knowledge and skills, habits of thinking, and preparation necessary to successfully complete the first year of college without the need for remedial or developmental education or to be able to enter the workforce ready to handle the demands of the job successfully.
That is why Grand Prairie ISD educators, administrators, counselors, and advisors want to ensure that every student graduates from high school ready to meet the challenges of a college curriculum or the demands of an increasingly knowledge-based global workforce. Now is the time to prepare!
