Grand Prairie ISD to Begin Classes on August 11

Grand Prairie ISD to Begin Classes on August 11!

All GPISD students will return to in-person instruction in the fall beginning Wednesday, August 11. Online registration for the 2021-2022 school year begins on Wednesday, July 28.

Grand Prairie ISD will not offer virtual instruction this fall as state legislation (House Bill 1468) that would have provided the funding resource to operate a virtual instruction program next school year did not pass during this recent legislative session. Likewise, the Texas Education Agency is not providing a waiver that would allow districts to offer a virtual option.

As we begin to return to a normal schedule with choir concerts, athletic events, art shows, awards ceremonies, and other activities that showcase our amazing students and innovative programs, we want you to know that student safety remains our top priority.

While masks will no longer be required in GPISD facilities per Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order, we will encourage frequent handwashing, the use of hand sanitizer, and social distancing where possible. Masks will be optional.
