Be Kind Parent Series: Raising Resilient and Compassionate Children
Parents, please join us as counselors from GPISD collaborate with Grand Prairie Libraries for a Be Kind Parent Series. We will discuss strategies for raising children (of all ages) to be stronger and more prepared for adulthood.

June 11: Teaching Children Grit
As children go through life, they will face different challenges. This session highlights the importance of how grit and perseverance helps children overcome life's issues and how parents can be instrumental in assisting their children grow in this area.
July 9: Mental Health and Challenges Young Minds Face
Being aware of a child's mental health is just as important as monitoring their physical health. This session will focus on specific challenges youths face and how early intervention, family connection, and utilizing effective coping skills can positively support children's mental health needs and overall wellbeing.
August 6: Being Present and Modeling Compassion
In a society where technology and social media strongly competes for adults' attention, it is more important than ever to stay connected and present with our children. This session will highlight fun ways parents can stay connected to their children through play and activities. It will also touch upon ways to model compassion in order to instill the value of kindness in our youths.
