Grand Prairie ISD Announces New Principals for 2018-2019 School Year

It is our pleasure to announce new Principals for the upcoming school year. All of these leaders have previously served in other leadership roles in the District.

Janna Burns – Young Women’s Leadership Academy at Arnold
Ms. Burns has been in public education for 16 years all of which have been in Grand Prairie. Previously, she was the Dean of Instruction at Grand Prairie High School.

Alisha Crumley – Garner Fine Arts Academy
Ms. Crumley has spent 20 of her 23 years in education here in GPISD. She comes to Garner after serving as the Principal of Crockett Early Education School.

Magdalena Garcia – Crockett Early Education School
Ms. Garcia has been in education for 10 years all of which have been in Grand Prairie ISD. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Principal at Hobbs Williams Elementary School.

Bianca Green – Lee Elementary School
Ms. Green has been named Principal of Lee Elementary School after serving as the school’s Assistant Principal. She has been in education for 12 years, five of those in GPISD.

Larry Jones – Dubiski Career High School
Formerly the Principal of Fannin Middle School, Mr. Jones has been in education for 18 years, all of them in GPISD. He has also served as an Assistant Principal and Dean of Instruction at South Grand Prairie High School.

Roberto Lopez – Fannin Middle School
Mr. Lopez is moving from the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy where he served as Dean of Instruction to lead Fannin MS. He has been in education for 9 years, the past five of those in GPISD.

Rachel Mendoza – Bonham Early Education School
Ms. Mendoza is taking the Principal position at Bonham EES after serving in a similar position at Hector P. Garcia Elementary School. She is a 20-year education veteran and has spent the last 13 years in GPISD.

Marva Maynard-Walter – David Daniels Academy of Science and Math
Ms. Maynard-Walter has been named Principal at David Daniels Academy of Science and Math after serving as Assistant Principal at Florence Hill Elementary School. She began her career in GPISD 20 years ago as a teacher at Daniels.

Martin Zamarripa – Hector P. Garcia Elementary School
Mr. Zamarripa comes to Garcia Elementary after serving as Assistant Principal at Ellen Ochoa STEM Academy at Ben Milam Elementary School. He has spent 19 years in education with 13 of those years in GPISD.
