SGP Senior’s Quest to Discover the Secret to Happiness Leads to Scholarship to Tulane University
Happiness is something we all look for but rarely take time to determine its source. South Grand Prairie High School senior Bella Howard decided to take the scientific approach to finding happiness.
Bella undertook a social experiment asking people to draw something that made them happy. She surveyed over 100 people spanning all ages visiting schools, homes, and a senior recreation center. After analysis, she determined the source of happiness changes as we age and is less about material possessions and more about relationships and experiences.
Bella, age 18, made a video about her experiment. The result is more than happiness for Bella. Her project helped earn a Dean’s Honor Scholarship at Tulane University in New Orleans.
