Teacher at SGP Receives Personal Video Message From Khan Academy Founder

David Laughlin is in his final year of teaching at South Grand Prairie High School as he plans to retire at the end of this school year.  Mr. Laughlin teaches Calculus and SAT prep where he uses the Khan Academy online as an educational resource to teach his students.  Mr. Laughlin is a big fan of Khan Academy and its founder Sal Khan. He speaks highly of Mr. Khan to his students calling him “the best math teacher I have ever seen.”

Unbeknownst to Mr. Laughlin, one of his students, senior Anthanesha Walker, began communicating with Mr. Khan via Twitter and then followed up with a letter to him describing Mr. Laughlin and his respect for him.  She also went so far as to invite Mr. Khan to visit SGP.  Though his schedule did not permit a personal visit, he did take the time to send along a special video message to Mr. Laughlin.
