letter from Superintendent Ellis

A message from Superintendent Linda Ellis

Dear Members of the Class of 2023,

You've made it! In just a few weeks you will graduate from high school! You've had some unusual experiences due to the pandemic, but now things have finally gotten back to normal. It was wonderful to have you back in our classrooms, back on our sports fields, and back in all the extracurricular activities that make high school so memorable. Besides all of those, you'll be having your graduation ceremonies in the traditional venues of Texas Trust Theatre and the South Grand Prairie High School Theatre. This year we'll also inaugurate a brand new tradition: Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy graduates will hold their ceremony at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas!

We want your graduation day to be memorable for all the right reasons, and our 2023 graduation guide will help with that. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the details that will make graduation day for the Class of 2023 THE BEST DAY EVER!

I want you to know that I'm extremely proud of each of you for all that you have accomplished. You have proven yourself to be strong, resilient, and reliable, and I know that you'll make a difference in the world. Though you are now well on your way to achieving your future goals, we want you to stay connected with Grand Prairie ISD. We hope you'll join the alumni group at your high school, and we would love to have you back to tell us about your careers, serve on committees, and even run for a position on the School Board!

As the 2022-2023 school year draws to a close, we ask that you take a moment to thank your parents, family, teachers, coaches, and others who are a part of your unique graduation success story.

I look forward to seeing you at graduation!

Linda Ellis
Superintendent of Schools
