Curriculum Offerings

Advanced Academics

At GPHS, students have the opportunity to take rigorous coursework and to potentially earn college credit while still in high school.  The following options are available for students:

Advanced Placement (AP)

GPHS offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses in English, social studies, mathematics, science, Spanish, and art.  Students are given the opportunity to show mastery in these college-level courses by taking the Advanced Placement examination in May of each year. Our AP students also get resources provided the National Math and Science Initiative.

Dual Credit

Dual credit allows a high school student to earn college credit and high school credit concurrently. We partner with Northlake Community College to offer dual credit to our students.

UT OnRamps

GPHS offers courses through UT Austin’s OnRamps Program allowing students to earn UT college credit within a high school classroom as dual enrollment. The following courses are offered via UT OnRamps.

  • English Rhetoric
  • College Algebra
  • PreCalculus
  • Geosciences (Earth and Space)
