Guiding Children to a Lifetime of Success

Welcome to the Grand Prairie Independent School District (GPISD) Early Learning Center! Here at GPISD we are "one team" working together to help develop the whole child socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, linguistically, and creatively.

The center is a Texas Rising Star 4 Star Certified Program.

The Early Learning Center follows the district student/teacher calendar and will be closed during the summer. The center is open from 6:30am to 6:00pm.

Program Philosophy and Goal of School

Program Philosophy and Goal of School

For the Children: To nurture the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child at their individual level so they may develop self-worth, respect of others and a love of learning.

For the Parents: To be a resource and support for parents in the areas of child development and successful parenting techniques. To encourage parents to interact with the staff and their child in the development process both at home and at the center.

For the Community: To support community-wide efforts to improve the care and education of children through teacher training workshops and advocacy effort.

Curriculum

Curriculum

GPISD Early Learning Center utilizes Frog Street Press curriculum. Through this curriculum children are taught using themes throughout the year which offer literacy and math lessons daily. Lessons are filled with songs, music, hands-on materials and activities, chants, games, make-believe, and stimulation for children's imagination.  Teachers also use Read-Aloud activities to foster oral language and sense of story, building vocabulary.

"What you teach me birth to three will be what matters most to me. What you teach me three to five will be what makes me grow and thrive.” Dr. Pam Schiller, Frog Street Curriculum Author.
